Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) formed in 2001 between five Asian countries has now developed as one of the most powerful organizations. However, Pakistan is at Observer role same as India, Mongolia and Iran but there are chances that China would help Pakistan to become Member State.
SCO as strong International Organization
Importance of SCO can be analyze from the opening statement of of President of Kazakhstan in 2005, in which he stated “The leaders of the states sitting at this negotiation table are representatives of half of humanity.” International recognition of SCO can be analyze from this fact that ; SCO is having observer states in General Assembly, European Union, ASEAN, Common wealth of independent states and OIC.
Military Activities : Peace Mission Military Exercises in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009 were successfully conducted between the member states of SCO. Although organization has never shown any hostile intentions against any country, these war games are sign of mutual understanding between member states.
Economical Cooperation: China announced a loan of 10 billion US $ in 2007 for member states to regulate the economical activities in the region. May be this organization will developed as independent international banking system (however its to early to comment on this, but its a possibility). Member states China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan (central Asian Region) are mineral resources rich nations of the world.
